Welcome on board with The Lost Quays!

And prepare for the calm and the storm, with shanties and other songs of the sea !

The Lost Quays are a vocal group based in the port of Fremantle, Western Australia. Formed in 2015, our crew sing largely a cappella but with some guitar, mandolin and accordion. We perform with energy and good humour, and relish a strong audience connection. As well as traditional material, and nautical folk material from around the world, our repertoire contains original songs, including local Australian tales.

Can't wait for our next performance?  Come and see us at Fremantle's Shanty Club. We host this very informal evening on every second Monday of each month at Clancy's Fish Pub.  This fixture has been going withour fail since late 2015.  Joining in with the crew to sing the chorus is definitely encouraged - and there's every opportunity to get up on stage and sing a maritime song yourself.

In August and September 2018 we were on our first European tour.  First off, was the Bie Daip, one of Euope's biggest shanty festivals, held at Appingedam, in the north of The Netherlands.
Then over to the UK and down to Dorset to meet up with the Wareham Whalers.  A concert with them and other local shanty groups, Dorset Wrecks and Kelp. Then across to Lyme Regis via a lunchtime concert in Corton Farm's ancient chapel. At the Lyme Folk Weekend, we had three performances on the seafront stage.  Following that we headed further west to Exmouth, where our hosts were the Exmouth Shanty Men. A concert and soem fine joint pub singing sessions characterised our whole UK time...actually our whole trip! Then back to London and over to northern Germany with our final performances at the Hafenfest in Papenburg.
